To be true, I know more what I’m not, than who I am. I’m not Irene the PhD student in American literature – not anymore. I’m not Irene the event organizer; I used to be that, but not anymore. I’m absolutely not Irene working in a press office, nor Irene the teacher of Italian language. So what’s left? Simply Irene, who loves cooking. An Italian 30 years old girlĀ living in Venice for now, but probably headed somewhere else in the following months. Where? Don’t know yet. Newly married to a wonderful Croatian man, we live on an island in the Venetian lagoon. Which sounds fantastic and actually is.

I am a professional copywriter and food writer.

Born among cappelletti and ravioli, that I started making at the age of 3, pretty soon my globe-trotter soul has brought me towards new flavors, cooking techniques and ingredients.

My food adventures have enriched and strengthen the perspective I have on cooking and eating. At the same time they have settled among my Italian roots quite easily. Cooking is a craft that knows no borders – that’s why it’s so powerful.

This blog is an ode to food and its many expressions. It is also a comfort place, where I hope you will find warmth, friendship and dreams to share. For I believe that everyone should have a place to dream and be exactly what she wants to be.
